» About Us

DGDN, Dragon Gaming Design Network, is a scenario design team, devoted to designing the best projects we can and to the customization of strategy games. Mainly this covers scenario design, but we also support random map scripting, modifications, ai scripting, graphical design and just about everything which is possible to customize in the games we cover. Our main goal is to help out the design and gaming community by writing tutorials and articles, answering questions at our's and other forums and making several helpful utilities and templates available for download. We also try to support new talented designers and teams by either hosting a site for their projects or offering help on design.

Our network started small and humble. The founder, Rodrigo, decided to search for a few people to help him with designing a huge city-campaign, called Dragon City, for the game Age of Kings. Many people applied so he decided to found a team for the project. On the 1st of May 2000, AoK Dragon was founded and had around 16 members. A month later SCN Punk asked to host us, and we accepted their offer, but AoK Dragon grew pretty large so we decided to become more independent, so we left SCN Punk. It took us quite some time, but 6 months later we had a pretty bad website up, around 35 members and a few very good projects. Because of the success Rodrigo made AoK Dragon into a real network, hosting several teams like AoK Dragon, EE Dragon, Cossacks Dragon, Woad Creations and Tsunami Studios. We also got a new host, Planet Age of Empires and Gamespy, and started to write tutorials and articles to support the community. But a month later DGDN knew its worst moments, Tsunami and Woad left because they wanted to be more independent. In the summer of 2001 Rodrigo left the team and gave his position to Cat. Rodrigo came back as an Honorary Lifetime Member, to help Cat try to regain DGDN's success. The Team struggled and we changed to GamerzNexus, because of the restriction's Gamespy had put on DGDN. While we were with GamerzNexus we had The Duke's AI, as well as other helpful items people could come and download from DGDN. We were with GN until March 2002, thats when they changed to a new server and from then until Cat, as Head, purchased our current host; we have been down and without a home. DGDN would like to thank Tsunami Studios, for giving us a forum to use for the short time we were down.

Now however, Dragon Gaming Design Network is back and that's where we are now, but look forward to many more new Campaigns, Scenarios, etc. from DGDN. Crasher is working on his big project, many other's in DGDN are doing the same, so expect to see much more from DGDN in the future.
