» Host Your Project
Are you working on a great project but don't have a website yet for it? Or have you already made a nice site but you're still using those free annoying hosts like Geocities or Tripod? We may have the sollution for you!
Why are we hosting Projects?
You, that's the reason. The Dragon Gaming Design Network wants to help out designers not having great html skills, since we know out of our own experience it can be a pain setting up a page for your project. It's also hard to find good webspace; most free hosts only give you very limited webspace and kill your site with banners and popups.
What do you get?
Small to medium projects can get their project hosted on the DGDN site. This means you'll get a project page just like the DGDN projects have.
Our webmasters will set up such a site for you and possibly make a logo. You can choose the actual contents! Next to that you can easily upload your project files to our storage. You can upload anything related to your project: soundtracks, the project itself, beta versions, screenshots, etc with our upload script.
Add sections, a logo, downloads, contents, or edit or delete it very easily, just like using a forum. This does function through our webmasters. You simply send your contents to them after they agreed that your project can be hosted.
Medium to large projects can even have their own site.
That means you can have:
- Unlimited webspace -We give you as much webspace as you need. There isn't a real limit, but for example 20Mb should be enough, but if you need more we'll gladly allow you. Note though that this webspace can only be used to store your project site and project related files on, nothing else.
- No banners - Yes, no banners, popups or other annoying advertisements.
- php/cgi/mysql/ssi support - If you're a more advanced web designer you'll probably use languages like php or cgi. It's all supported here.
- Your link would be: http://dgdn.net/dgdn.php?id=yourprojectid&&cat=project_pages
- Own FTP account - We can get you your own FTP account to access your webspace. This is limited to one though.
- Link on DGDN - We'll link to your project site from our main page.
- Script support - We can help you setting up a news script like newspro if you ever need one.
Qualifications/Requirements?
Now, what do we ask from you? It is very simple, just a good project of which you're quite sure it'll be finished. We'll have a look at the sample you send to us and see if it meets our criteria. Remember that we allow all kinds of projects: random maps, ai files, scenarios, campaigns, modpacks etc. related tpmost top RTS games: Age of Kings, AoK:TC, Age of Mythology, Empires:DoTMW, Stronghold, Warcraft III, etc.
A summary of our criteria:
- Original project
- Must be under construction, we do not host "ideas".
- Must be a quite big project: no templates, small random maps, idle ai files, etc, demos, previews, teasers, single mods, etc.
- Quality is the most important issue!
If you're a good, experienced designer these qualifications shouldn't have scared you off. So if you're interested send some information about yourself and your project plus a sample to Cat or Droch.
